Nordea Bank Russia got the highest national credit rating

Russian Analytical Credit Rating Agency (ACRA) assigns ААА(RU) to Nordea Bank Russia, outlook Stable.

This rating affirms the exceptional degree of creditworthiness under the national scale for the Russian Federation.  The rating enables the Bank to work with money of any Russian institution including stately-owned ones.

ACRA highlights that this rating affirms a high creditworthiness level of the Bank, strong capital adequacy, and adequate liquidity and funding position.

ACRA high assessment is defined by the Bank’s position in terms of capital, the quality of its brand and the stable customer base. The Bank’s loan portfolio contains no NPL90+, while the share of loans regarded by the Agency as potentially problem is not more than 5%. Strong liquidity position is predominantly based on a high volume of liquid and highly liquid assets and a limited amount of liabilities maturing within the next three months.

The credit rating has been assigned to JSC Nordea Bank for the first time. The Stable outlook assumes that the rating will most likely stay unchanged within the 12 to 18-month horizon.

Mikhail Polyakov, the Bank’s CEO comments: «The ACRA high assessment is an important factor for us evidencing the market trust and that we pursue the right strategy. Our customers are largest Russian and foreign companies that deem it extremely important to cooperate with a financial partner fully compliant with the latest regulatory requirements. In the current economic environment it is the reliability of a credit institution that corporations find most crucial when making decisions on placing or borrowing funds».
