Nordea Bank received the National Banking Award 2016 as the Best Social Bank at the ceremony held by the Association of the Russian Banks.
The Bank was awarded for its active support of the social and charity projects.
The Bank’s key charity area is a targeted support of children suffering from serious diseases and orphans from boarding schools. For many years the Bank has been granting money for treatment of the children at personal requests of their parents and cooperating with charity organisations (e.g. Union of Charitable Organisations of Russia, Romashka Charity Fund, Regional Public Organization of Disabled CENTRE for HUMANITARIAN PROGRAMMES, AIF Dobroe Serdtse Fund, Territoriya Sovesti Fund and others). Also, the Bank participates in arrangement of sports, carrier guidance events and festivities for orphans. For example, we joined the Pre-New Year charity event “Be like Santa!” for the fifth year in a row – the bank’s employees bought presents for orphans from boarding schools located in various regions of Russia.
The Bank CEO Mikhail Polyakov received the award.
The National Banking Award was established by the Association of the Russian Banks. It took place for the 12th time.
It is the fifth time Nordea Bank received the award in various nominations. Earlier the Bank was awarded for Best Quality Service (twice), Best Governance and as The Bank of People’s Trust.
