Nordea Bank participates in Earth Hour campaign dedicated to the planet environmental problems

On 31 March 2012 on Saturday from 20.30 Nordea Bank switches off the light in the branches where it is not critical for business activities. Thus, Nordea joins the world’s campaign organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). At that time millions of people all over the world will switch off light for one hour.

Earth Hour demonstrates to people and companies that if they are aware of environmental problems of our planet and make small steps on daily basis, it will eventually contribute to conservation of natural resources. Such campaign was arranged for the first time by the WWF in 2007 jointly with “The Sydney Morning Herald”, and in 2009 it became the most large-scale action in the history of the mankind.

More than 1 billion people in 131 countries of the world participated in this campaign in 2011, 369 global companies joined Earth Hour, including Nordea Group in all regions where it operates. Residents of various geographical regions and a number of largest companies annually take part in this campaign. It is the second consecutive year that Nordea Bank participates in Earth Hour.
